Privacy Policy

We collect the following to provide LifeReel:

• Account information — your name, email address, and the password or sign-in provider you use to create an account.
• Project metadata— details you provide when you create a film, such as the occasion, who it’s for, your timeline, and the contributors you invite.
• Contributions — the videos, photos, and audio that contributors record or upload, along with any text they add.
• Transcripts — text transcripts we generate from contributions to help assemble and refine the film.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create, edit, and deliver the film you and your contributors are making.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the service.
• Send transactional messages — invitations, reminders, and notifications about your project.

We do not sell your personal information. Within a project, the organizer can see the contributions submitted for their film, and the recipient sees the finished film the organizer chooses to share with them.

We use service providers to host and process data on our behalf (for example, our cloud infrastructure provider). They may only handle data to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.

During beta, films and their contributions are stored free for 90 days. You can request deletion of a project and its contributions at any time, and we will remove the associated content from active systems.

You can:

• Access the personal information associated with your account.
• Request deletion of your account, a project, or its contributions.
• Opt out of marketing emails at any time (transactional messages will continue).

We store data with our cloud provider (Supabase), which encrypts data in transit and at rest. Access to contributions and account data is restricted to authorized personnel and the people within a project who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
